Wine Harvest in Lake Chelan: How to Enjoy the Season in Wine Country

Fall in Lake Chelan means more than crisp mornings and golden hillsides. It’s every wine lover’s favorite holiday: Wine Harvest. Grape harvest is in full swing, the valley is buzzing with energy, and everywhere you turn there’s another chance to sip, swirl, and celebrate the autumn season.

If you’re planning a getaway to Echo Valley Resort + Cabins this fall, here are a few ways to make the most of Wine Harvest:

1. Celebrate Grape Harvest with Wine Harvest Events

Wineries across the valley roll out special experiences during harvest. Think grape stomps, harvest dinners, and behind-the-scenes tours where you can watch the winemaking process up close. These events are the heartbeat of fall in wine country and an unforgettable way to connect with the community.

2. Experience Fall Barrel Tasting

One of the most anticipated two weekends of the year in wine country, Fall Barrel Tasting gives you the chance to sample wines straight from the barrel before they’re bottled. It’s a rare, behind-the-scenes peek into the winemaker’s craft and a perfect excuse to explore tasting rooms throughout the valley. Fall Barrel Tasting happens every year the first and second weekends of November.

3. Take a Wine Tour

Fall is the perfect time to explore the local vineyards through guided tours. The weather is mild, the vineyards are bursting with fruit and activity, and tasting rooms feel extra cozy. From big, bustling estates to small, family-run gems, every stop offers a new perspective on Lake Chelan wine.

4. Catch Live Music

Harvest season is all about celebration, and that means live music spilling out of patios and barrel rooms. Grab a glass, settle in, and let the soundtrack of Wine Harvest carry you through a golden autumn afternoon. We put together a list of our favorite live music spots, but you can also visit the local wine alliance event calendar for a more complete list.

5. Bring Wine Back to Your Cabin

One of the best parts about staying at the resort? You get to come home to the quiet. Waive those tastings fees with a couple of bottles from your favorite wineries and enjoy them fireside, on the deck, or while soaking in the hot tub. (We also heard wine pairs well with our s’mores kit!) The serene setting and mountain views make every sip taste even better.

Why Stay at Echo Valley During Wine Harvest?

The valley may be alive with the excitement of harvest, but at EVRC you’ll find peace waiting at the end of the day. Our cabins are tucked into the forest with beautiful scenery all around. Far enough from the hustle and bustle to recharge, close enough to be at your favorite winery in 15 minutes. It’s the best of both worlds.
