Fall color in Chelan looks a little different from the postcard maples of New England. Although the evergreens in Echo Valley tend to stay nice and green year-round, the real show offs are the vineyards and orchards dotting the hills throughout the valley.

Fall is when the Echo Ridge trail system really comes into its own, and the best part is that it starts right from the resort. There are around 25 miles of interconnected trails and roads winding over open ridge tops, which means you can head out on foot or on two wheels without ever loading up the car. Because the trails sit up high, you get big views of the lake, the surrounding peaks, and all that fall color without a punishing climb to earn them.
Hiking
When it comes to fall hiking around Lake Chelan, there's something here for every pace. Families and anyone wanting an easy morning can follow one of the shorter loops through the meadows, where side spurs lead to overlooks of the lake and foothills. Stronger hikers can link several trails together for a longer day out.
Biking
The riding is just as good! Echo Ridge is a favorite among mountain bikers for its fast, flowy singletrack, with routes that suit easygoing cruisers and more technical riders alike. Cooler fall temperatures make the climbs a lot more pleasant, and the trails clear out once summer ends. We keep a fleet of rental bikes on site, so you can borrow a set and be out there in minutes, even if it’s been a while since you last rode.
